History:Peanut is believed to have been originated from South America. There are no fossils to prove this, but the people of South America made pots that were in the shape of groundnuts around three thousand years ago. The Europeans discovered peanuts in Brazil and they took it back to Spain, and from there it was sent to Africa. In 1700, Africans introduced it to the Americans.
Uses:Peanut oils are mostly used in cooking as it considered to one of the healthiest vegetable oils. It can be used for adding its nutty flavor to the food. This oil is also added to medicinal ointments and oils which can help in reducing pain and treating constipation.
Therapeutic Benefits:Peanut oil is rich in Vitamin E and can enhance health especially for the elderly. It can also increase insulin sensitivity as the oil comprises of poly-saturated and mono-saturated fats. The oil can also be applied to the skin to get relief from joint pains.
