Water melons are flowering plant that is native to northeast Africa. The countries such as China, Turkey and Iran are the largest producers of the fruit. Water melon seed oil is extracted from the black or brown seeds of the water melon fruit. To extract the oil, firstly, the seeds are sundried to remove the water content present in it. Then, it is cold pressed to obtain the water melon oil which is light yellow in color and has a nutty aroma. The water melon seed oil has a large number of therapeutic properties such as emollient, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antihelminthic and as well as variety of daily usages.
