History:Camphor was first synthesized by Gustaf Komppa in 1903. Previously, some organic compounds had been synthesized in the laboratory as a proof of concept, but Camphor was a scarce natural product with a worldwide demand. The synthesis was the first industrial total synthesis when Komppa begin industrial production in Finland in 1907. Camphor oil has been traditionally used for several years solely or in combination with other treatment for pain relief, inflammation, and other uses. The studies have shown that some of the components of camphor oil have suppressive and antimutagenic effect in number of human cancer cells without harming the healthy cells.
Uses:Camphor oil has numerous health benefits and uses. It helps in preventing skin infections, relieves gas, reduces inflammation, prevents malaria, improves blood circulation, acts as muscle reluctant, and relieves Neuralgia. It also reduces sensitivity in pain and treats nervous disorders, reduces joint pain, relieves congestion from the respiratory system, acts as a sedative for whole body, and it also increases libido.
Therapeutic Benefits:Camphor oil has anti bacterial, anti fungal, and anti oxidant properties. It is effective for cough and cold, pain, and skin itching and irritation. It may be used for insect bite, low blood pressure, and other conditions.
