The fruits of this plant are considered edible and the seeds of this plant contain 40% oil in them. This oil is used as cooking oil. It is also used to keep the snakes away in some remote areas.
The flowers of Mahua tree doesn't stay on them for long and they usually bloom at night and fall at dawn. These are also used in wedding rituals in certain parts of the world mainly in villages. People weave these flowers in plates and bowls and often use them as utensils.
