Agarwood species found in Eastern India is Aquilaria malaccensis (Botanical Name). It is a giant, tall tree with an approximate height of forty meters and a huge trunk. It produces resinous wood that is found in trunks and roots. Insects and external organisms infect wood and it leads to the secretion of resin making the wood denser. Indian attar is made from this wood.
