Vetiver Absolute/ Ruhkhus (Green) Oil

Vetiver Absolute/ Ruhkhus (Green) Oil is produced from the roots of a grass that grows wild in parts of Lanka, Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia The rootlets are cut and soaked in water before steam distillation. It has the smell of earth and its action depends on its concentration and the oil in which it is mixed. The Indian poets relate this woody aroma to the first monsoon rains on the earth. The oil is very thick but thins out when added to other oils or alcohol.
