Labdanum Absolute Oil (Rock Rose)

The Labadnum absolute oil is a rare and expensive oil that is obtained from the solvent extraction process of the Rockrose’s flowers and leaves. The Labadnum is also known as the gum rockrose and it belongs to the Cistaceae family of plants. This plant is grows wild in North Africa and southern France however it belongs to the western regions of the Mediterranean. The sticky shrub can grow up to be almost 2 meters in heights. It has broad leaves and white flowers which has a dash of maroon at their base. Labadnum is used as a main ingredient in many perfumes. It has a long past of use in treating skin ailments, dysentery and colds.
