Benzoin is obtained by the benjamin tree that is native to Sumatra. Benzoin absolute floral oil is soluble in alcohol but insoluble in water. It possesses many therapeutical properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant. The floral oil of benzoin has thick consistency due to which it is used in candle making. This floral absolute consists of benzoic acid, coniferyl benzoate and vanillin.
