Spearmint is a perennial herb that is also known as lamb mint, garden mint or common mint. It is native to India and some sources say China. This minty herb comprises of sharp leaves that have spiky ends and bears pink and lilac colored flowers. The leaves of this plant undergo the process of steam distillation in order to obtain the Spearmint Oil. The extracted oil is transparent to light yellow in color and it also has an herbaceous and minty like odor. This oil has the strongest mint odor than its other types of oil.
