Even though Petitgrain oil is extracted from same plants as bitter orange and neroli, it still has some unique properties of its own. The oil is sometimes distilled from stems, twigs and even branches of the tree. Petitgrain oil is less citrusy and less floral than bitter orange and neroli. It is mainly produced in Paraguay and France. Earlier this oil was extracted from green and young oranges.

Petitgrain oil is used mostly in the perfume and cosmetics industry, as well as in food and beverages industry. The oil is also beneficial emotionally as it is used for uplifting your mood, helps in calming and balancing people when emotionally down.
