Oenothera biennis or Evening Primrose is a species of Oenothera and is native to North America. It grows in the temperate and subtropical regions of the world. The plant is also known as Evening Star or Sun Drop. Evening Primrose is a biennial plant that grows up to 121 to 59 inches in height. It bears lanceolate leaves and flowers that are yellow in colour. The seeds of the plant are rich in fatty acids which are used for healing purposes. These seeds are cold pressed to obtain the Evening Primrose Oil. It has a characteristic fragrance of the plant and the colour of the oil is clear to pale yellow in color.
