Basil Oil

Oil which is said to be originated in India is extracted from the herb Ocimum Basilicum by steam distillation process. The oil ha a watery viscosity and is pale greenish yellow in color. Its aroma is light, clear and sweet. Basil is a much favored herb in India for medical and culinary process. Basil leaves are put on the chest of a Hindu on his funeral pyre, as it is thought to be the express ticket to paradise.It is used to treat Headache, Fever and nausea in India and Africa. It is used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine as well.

The Chemical compounds that are included in Basil Oil are a-pinene, Camphene,b-pinene, myrecene, limonene,cis- ocimene, camphor, linalool, mythlchavicol, y- terpineol, citronellol, geraniol, mythlcinnamate and eugeno.

Basil Oil is very beneficial oil; it helps with headaches and migraines. It is like an anti-bacterial/anti-viral that act as an expectorant for asthma, bronchitis and sinus infections.
