Mace essential oil is steam distilled from the mace which is basically dried crimson-colored lacy seed covering called aril removed from the nutmeg. Mace trees are grown in India and Spain. The oil is colorless to pale yellow in color and has a sharp, strong, and spicy odor. Mace essential oil is Non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing. The oils have the properties of being analgesic, anti-oxidant, anti-septic, and digestive. The main constituents of this oil consist of monoterpene hydrocarbon, monoterpene alcohols, aromatic monoterpenes, alkenes, organic acid-oxygenated monoterpene, monoterpene esters, and aromatic ethers.

Uses
